About Me

My Training:

My formal professional training is a post graduate diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling, a UKCP accredited course, from the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology, Regent's College, Regents Park, London. www.spc.ac.uk 

I've also been trained in Bereavement Counselling/Grief Therapy at CCIWBS, Kentish Town. www.bereavement-counselling.org

I have been in practice since 2002 in London, and am a member of the BACP, whose ethical guidelines and framework I adhere to. www.bacp.co.uk

I have also been trained in group therapy at PACE. www.pacehealth.org.uk 

My previous training was in a Christian seminary at S.A.I.A.C.S. in Bangalore, India, where I did an M.A. in Biblical Studies with a strong focus on pastoral care and counselling, which included a 15 month intensive pastoral internship in Cambridge, UK at Holy Trinity Church and as a visiting scholar at Ridley Hall. www.saiacs.org   

My Experience:

* I have seen clients for time limited, solution focused counselling at Clapham Manor Health Centre, a GP practice in Clapham, South London for 2 years

* I have seen clients for open ended counselling at a Bereavement Counselling Service in Kentish Town (CCIWBS) for 2 years www.bereavement-counselling.org

* I set up London's first ever counselling service exclusively for South Asian gay and bisexual men exploring their sexuality and its interaction with their culture and religion, this was through the NAZ Project London, who I was with for 3 years. www.naz.org.uk

* I worked as a telephone counsellor and case manager for a well known and respected Employee Assistance Programme Provider called Lifeworks - Ceridian UK Ltd for 6 years, offering counselling over the phone as well as on-site support for critical incidents at the work place, and for The Retail Trust for a year, currently I am an affiliate counsellor for Ceridian and offer face to face and telephone sessions. www.lifeworks.com 

* I've run therapeutic support groups with an organisation called PACE for Gay and Bisexual men for 10 years, including the first weekend workshop of its kind for MSM from South Asian backgrounds, workshops are on themes on Self Esteem building, Feeling Out of Control, Coping with being HIV positive and living with HIV, Relationships, Understanding and living out your sexual self. www.pacehealth.org.uk

* I am part of a very experienced team of practitioners who run a residential group workshop for Gay and Bisexual Men called Loving Men in Scotland and Wales  www.lovingmen.org   

*I was part of the Pastoral care team for over a year at Holy Trinity Church in Cambridge, UK, offering pastoral care and counselling to individuals in the congregation and ran a weekly house group as part of a secondment programme from the seminary I read at in Bangalore called SAIACS.

*I've been in private practice for four years.

*I've offered counselling on-site for Twitter, Unilever, RBS, Kier Services Waltham Forest.

My Services:

* An Assessment Session if you are just exploring counselling

* Time Limited Solution Focussed Counselling and Therapy from 6 - 12 weeks

* Open ended Psychotherapy and Counselling from 12 sessions upwards

* On-Site Counselling Support for Critical Incidents in the work place, such as death in service, redundancies, work related stress, crisis management.

* Telephone Counselling or counselling over Skype for those unable to travel or are in remote areas

Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes.

My Fees:

Regular 50 minute sessions are at £65 each.

Initial assessment session costs £75.

One off explorative sessions and consultations are at £85.

Concessions are available as per suitability and fees will be negotiated at the initial session.

Payments received either in cash, cheque or online bank transfer.
